PURPOSE:To facilitate fitting and removal of a sensing member and enable inexpensive manufacture thereof by a method wherein the sensing member for sensing the residual quantity of liquid reserved in a tank is provided inside a gage pipe installed in the tank. CONSTITUTION:The sensing member 11 sensing the presence of the liquid, such as a water-level detecting sensor, is supported on the small-diameter part 9 of the vertical part 7b of a lower-part coupling member 7 wherein the gage pipe 3 is fitted. When the level of the liquid reserved in the tank 1 lowers to a prescribed position, i.e. when the level of the liquid in the gage pipe 3 lowers and the sensing member 11 is exposed from the liquid, the sensing member 11 operates and delivers a signal, which reaches the alarming device through the intermediary of a lead wire 13 to make the alarming device operate. Accordingly, the fitting and removal of the sensing member 11 can be conducted simply and easily and further the member can be manufactured inexpensively since the number of parts thereof is small. |
