PURPOSE:To detect peroxide activating materials (blood, etc.) with high accuracy by using a dihydroperoxide compd. obtd. by oxidizing a specific dihydroxy compd. with hydrogen peroxide. CONSTITUTION:The dihydroperoxide compd. expressed by formula I is obtd. by oxidizing the dihydroxy compd. expressed by formula II with the hydrogen peroxide. In formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom., halogen atom., nitro group, alkyl group (may contain an ether group); (n) denotes 1-4 integer. For example, the dihydroperoxide compd. expressed by formula I is 2,5-diphenylhexane-2,5- dihydroperoxide 2,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)hexane-2,5-dihydroperoxide, etc. Since the dihydroperoxide compd. expressed by formula I is used, the blood and hemoglobin which are the peroxide activating materials are detected stably with lapse of time and good sensitivity without degradation is sensitivity.
