A solar collector consists of a tube system conducting a fluid to be heated. Above or between the pipes there is a metal mesh coated with black lacquer on upper and lower faces; this permits solar radiation to shine through between the pipes, where it is collected by an absorbing and emitting foil. This foil is also pref. coated with a matt black lacquer on the side towards the pipes. On the lower side, the foil pref. has an emission of only 0.02. Pref. medium in pipes is water, and the whole system is pref. housed in a thermally insulating polyurethane casing.
