<p>A continuous injection moulding appts. is intended for the prodn. of "continuous but cyclically produced" articles, i.e. for the step-by-step moulding of a continuous strand with injection mouldings attached to it, or the continuous step-step prodn. of serrated racks and other uniform objects. The continuously produced moulding is advanced by one step each time the mould opens and the next step is moulded when the mould again closes. The appts. comprises at least two injection moulding units (11, 12), one on each side of the closure unit (10) and perpendicular to the vertical central axis of the closure unit. At least one of the injection moulding units can be displaced in three mutually perpendicular directions relative to the mould closure unit. The space in front of and behind the closure unit (10) and perpendicular to the plane passing through the axes of the injection moulding units (11, 12) is kept clear for auxiliary equipment, such as cutting or winding devices, printing equipment etc. for treating the resultant moulding. The arrangement using two injection moulding units takes full advantage of the hot duct principle, by which the material leading into the mould passes along a hot duct, to get joint-free connections between successive mouldings. As a result, very complicated mouldings can be produced.</p> |
