Jointing strip for sealing abutting wall joints in building and civil engineering consists of an extruded plastics profile stiffened by transverse strips at intervals along its length. These stiffening strips are embedded inside the plastics profile. Preferably, the stiffening strips are of rectangular cross-section, and are embedded centrally in the extruded profile. Preferably also, each strip terminates, just before the edge of the profile and has a hole through each end. The spacing of the stiffening strips is 10-15 cm. Their width is 5-10 mm. and thickness 1-1.5 mm. Strips may be of metal, esp. iron strip, or of plastics, esp. rigid PVC. As a sealing strip in building and civil engineering work. By embedding the strips in the profile, the previous complicated procedure of fitting them outside, then bending the ends of the strips around the edge of the sealing strip, is eliminated.
|
