Polluted air washer esp. for laboratories and small plants - has air bubbling upward through vessel into packed column

A vertical washer for purifying air discharged esp. from small works or laboratories operates in parallel flow, with increasing absorption of impurities as the air flows upwards. The incoming, contaminated air enters under pressure into a wash vessel, where there is a mounting below the liquid surface for a filler unit, which is itself therefore partially immersed in the washing water. In operation, the wash liquid is bubbled up and blown by the air into the higher part of the filler unit. Preferably, the upper part of the filler unit acts as a droplet separator. Preferably also, the filler unit rests on a perforated plate which supports it and distributes the incoming air. For laboratories, chemical and industrial small plants with air throughputs of up to1,000 m3 per hour. The apparatus requires no moving parts or control or metering equipment.
