The wall-mounted fan heater has a coaxial air inlet and outlet with gratings, with between them an electric heater element and a fan enclosed by a cylindrical conduit joined to the inlet grating and extending part-way into the housing. The grating also has additional air inlet ports outside the conduit. On one or more edges of the inlet grating (4) is a rearwards extension (22), fitting over a recess (23) in the upright sidewall (24), and having additional inlet ports (13). These extensions can be provided on both sides, and can be in one piece with the grating and the conduit (15).
