Granules for the controlled release of oxamyl (I) were prepd. and found effective as soil insecticides and nematocides, esp. in the control of root nematodes. Thus, to a soln. of 12g I and 2g polystyrene in 15mL of methylene chloride, 10.0g of granular celatom MP-78 was added. The granules were manually agitated under N2 unitl they were partially dry. Further drying occurred overnight in ambient air. The final product contained 1% I and 16% of the polymer, and was effective against Meloidogyne incognita in lab. tests. |
