摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To keep a supercharging pressure of the engine always high by a method wherein a waste gate valve and a relief valve are operated in the turbo-charger provided with an exhaust turbine and compressor driving the turbine. CONSTITUTION:In the turbo-charger 1 in which the exhaust turbine 4 is driven by the gas exhausted from engine 2, the turbine operates the compressor 6 to pressurize the sucked gas. An increase of the rotation number of the engine 2 increases the number of the rotations of the exhaust turbine 4, and the compressor 6 raises the supercharging pressure also. When the supercharging pressure exceeds the limit, the waste gate valve 11 is opened to open a bypass passage 10. As a result, an excess exhaust gas is discharged to an exhaust gas passage 3 through the bypass passage 10, and the supercharging pressure is prevented from increasing over the limit setpoint. When the waste gate valve 11 is broken down, the relief valve 18 exhibits a function of a safety device.</p>
