<p>A games bat, e.g. for cricket, has a handle 1 and a striking portion 2 of wood. In order to provide improved playing characteristics, the striking portion contains at least one insert 5 of elastomeric material, e.g. natural or synthetic rubber, which does not intersect the playing surface. Preferably there is a plurality of cylindrical inserts which are contained in holes drilled transversely of the longitudinal axis of the bat. <IMAGE></p> |
