PURPOSE:To perform a wide-range jumping stably and surely, by constituting a transfer table loaded with an optical system to move in the direction orthogonal to a track to perform jumping. CONSTITUTION:At the jumping time, if the jumping synchronizing pulse is input to A, instruction circuit 27 opens switches SW1 and SW2 and closes SW3. Simultaneously, the output voltage of voltage generating circuit 28 drives linear motor 18 through switch SW3 and linear motor driving circuit 24. Transfer table 21 is moved according to movement of movable part 19 of motor 18, and the scanning point of light beam 2 on recording carrier 7 is moved in the direction orthogonal to the track direction. The number of tracks which light beam 2 goes across successively is detected by stop pulse generating circuit 30; and when it becomes equal to a set number of tracks, instruction circuit 27 stops voltage generating circuit 28 and restores switches SW1-SW3. As a result, wide-range jumping is performed stably and surely. |
