PURPOSE:To enhance the corrosion resistance of a steel sheet and especially prevent the formation of red rust by coating the sheet with a molten alloy having a specified composition consisting of Al, Mg, Pb, Sn an Zn by hot dipping after pretreatment by an ordinary method and alloying the coated sheet. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet is pretreated by an ordinary method and coated with a molten alloy consisting of, by wt., 0.01-0.25% Al, 0.02-1% Mg, <1% Pb and/ or Sn and the balance Zn by hot dipping. The coated sheet is then alloyed by being passed through an electric furnace or the like. |
