<p>In a hydraulic filter consisting of a cup and head sealingly connected at a flange, the cup has a narrow integral peripheral flange near its top. The upper face of this flange supports the loosely fitting filter head laterally spaced from the top of the cup by a sealing ring in a groove round the cup end. The lower face of the flange engages a larger separate external connector flange affixed to the head by bolts, and possibly made in two halves, which loosely surrounds the narrow flange. The filter is easy to instal and remains sealed even at peak pressures. The connector flange may be of cheaper material than that needed for the cup and head, esp. for aggressive media.</p> |
