PURPOSE:To obtain a lithographic plate nonrequiring dampening water, by forming printing elements soluble in solvents or swellable with them on an ink receptive base, pressure bonding a silicone layer to the base and the elements by a specified method, hardening it, and removing the elements and the silicone layer on the elements. CONSTITUTION:Solvent-soluble or swellable printing elements 2 are formed on ink receptive base 1, such as an aluminum plate. On the other hand, silicon layer 4 of a hardenable type excluding a photohardenable type is formed on support 3 made of polypropylene or the like by coating, and soon after impregnating layer 4 with a hardening catalyst solution by spraying or the like, layer 4 is overlaid on the element side of base 1, pressure bonded, and hardened. After stripping support 3, elements 2 are dissolved or swelled with a solvent. Elements 2 and hardened silicone layer 4' are removed to form hardened silicone layer 4' on the nonimage areas as ink receptive parts 5, thus permitting the obtained printing plate to have printing resistance and not to cause background staining, pinholes, and the like defects. |
