PURPOSE:To obtain a composition to effectively control brake noise, which in excellent in heat resistance and oil resistance, from a rubber, a phenolic resin, and a filler. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. natural and/or synthetic rubber (A) to which is added a vulcanizer and/or a rubber additive as needed, 2-500pts.wt. phenolic resin (B) (e.g., cresol-formaldehyde resin, etc.), and 70vol% or less filler (C), e.g., of a metal or alloy powder and/or an inorganic powder (e.g., barite, limestone, etc.) are mixed together to obtain a composition. The composition is used in the form of sheet, by dissolving it in paste with solvent, by bonding it to the contact portion between pad back metal and piston, caliper body claw, and yoke or its adjacent portion, or by coating it in a thickness of 0.1-1mm. on these portions. |
