Hair and scalp treatment compsn. for combating baldness - comprising water, methyl salicylate, strong base, ascorbic acid and magnesium thiosulphate

Compsn. comprises water; 13-40 pts. vol. methyl salicylate (oil or wintergreen); 20-60 pts. of a strong base; 3-12 pts. ascorbic acid and 3-10 pts. wt. magnesium thiosulphate; or corresponding amts. of materials which can provide the same ingredients, together with known adjuvants for such prepns. Pref. the strong base is KOH and the prepn. contains heparin, vitamin H and/or glycine. The prepns. are useful e.g. in the form of shampoos or cosmetic hair prepns. for treating baldness, promoting hair growth and strengthening the hair.
