DISPLAY DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

An organic EL display apparatus capable of carrying out normally-white display by controlling the number of scannings efficiently in terms of power consumption. A display apparatus in which pixel sections having a luminous portions and a semiconductor switch circuit for allowing the luminous portions to emit light are arrayed. The semiconductor switch circuit of each pixel section has an inverter for delivering through the inverter an operation output for allowing the luminous portions to emit light. When the pixels are not selected, the operation output is supplied to the luminous portions through the inverter to allow the luminous portions to allow the luminous portions to emit light, whereas when the pixel are selected, the operation output is not supplied to the luminous portions through the inverter to inhibit the luminous portions from emitting light, thus carrying out normally-white display as a whole.
