PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic copier of a small size, light weight, and high reliability at a low cost by driving motors by DC current for driving optical device and fixing device, and for conveying paper and cooling fan motors. CONSTITUTION:The output (AC 100V) of a power source switch 113 is converted to plural low-voltage DC power voltages by an AC-DC converter 117 of switching regulator type, and these are applied to the loads, for example, fan motors and motors 120a...120n for dust suction, which are required to be energized simultaneously upon turning on of the power switch 113. They are also supplied to the loads 122a,...122n which required power supply controlling according to copying processes, for example, motors for driving an optical device, a photosensitive drum, a fixing device and a developing device, by way of a power supply control circuit 121 including a microcomputer. Thereby, the apparatus is made small in size, light in weight, high in reliability and low in cost. |
