<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the interruption of JOB by enabling a retry regarding an error as much as possible by providing a data block detecting means which makes a strict check and another data block detecting means which makes a minimum check. CONSTITUTION:Detecting circuit 24 is provided with two kind of data block detecting means. One is strict detecting means which has the condition that a signal of each track is read by more than half of read heads for a prescribed time and in a prescribed pattern, and the other is the loose detecting means having the condition that the signal is read by >=1/3 the read heads. Then, if an error is not detected by the 1st means and detected by the 2nd means, it is reported as an error which can be retried. Thus, errors are regarded as those which can be retried as much as possible, so that JOB can be continued without interruption.</p> |
