The rose (10) is screwed onto a threaded cylinder (5) connected rigidly to a holding plate (4) which is located next to the case of the mortise lock (3) in the recess (2) provided for the latter in the door (1). The threaded cylinder (5) and the rose (10) have passage orifices which correspond to the cross-sectional shape of the lock cylinder (6). When the lock cylinder (6) is used in the conventional way, the rose can no longer be unscrewed. The rose (10) protects the part of the lock cylinder (6) projecting on the outside of the door against being twisted off by force. <IMAGE>
