<p>The automatic release is for loads suspended outside aircraft, having left- and right-hand hinging claws bearing against the outside of the load and pivoting on a central body, being equipped with supporting buffers. The body accommodates the pivoting mechanism. A two-part (15,16) toggle link (14) is attached to the end of each claw (11) towards the body (10), one of the parts hinging on the body. At the coupling pin (20) between the parts one of the latter has a sideways-protruding portion (24), against which one of the ramp faces (22,23) of a wedge (21) sliding in the body bears. Movement of the wedge forces the toggle links outwards and turns the claws against the load. The claws are actuated by a spring (27) mounted on the wedge, and released by suspension of a load from the claws.</p> |
