<p>The beam or panel is of metal or similar sheet material, and comprises two or more sheets spaced apart and fixed together. One or both of the sheets (1,2) have cup-shaped recesses (3) formed by stretching, and the sheets are joined together at the bases of these recesses. Where there are recesses in both sheets, these can be opposite each other, and they can be secured together by spot-welding, gluing or mechanically. Each recess can be at the centre of a hexagon, whose corners are formed by the adjacent recesses.</p> |
