The invention relates to the electro-erosive processing of materials. The device contains an operating container (1) in which a workpiece (2) is mounted which is processed with the aid of a tool electrode (3). The latter is attached to a feed drive (4). The device also includes a pulse generator (7) and a control unit (9). The workpiece (2), the tool electrode (3) with its feed drive (4), the pulse generator (7) and the control unit (9) are connected to one another by means of electrical power circuits and control circuits. An electric pump unit is used to convey the operating fluid into the processing zone, which pump unit consists of a displacement pump (16) and of its drive. This pump drive represents an electric motor (17) with continuously variable rotation-speed control. Its control windings are connected into one of the said circuits of the device. The invention can be used effectively for electro-erosion machines for maintaining the optimum flow rate of the operating fluid which is supplied to the electrode interspace. <IMAGE>
