The telephone system has a special code inserted into the first group of AF signals to disable the voice station described by the second group of AF signals for incoming calls and to initiate the rerouting of these calls to an operator's set in the first network. The disabling is removed and the rerouting, the special code is inserted at the same place once more. A 'station free' code is sent to the first network as a positive acknowledgment of the disabling of the station. A 'station engaged' code is sent to the first network as a negative acknowledgment of the attempted disabling of the station.
