The ships propeller comprises a hub housing (2) fixed to the propeller shaft (1), a number of radially extending blades (3-6) rotatable relative to the housing, and two yokes (8,9) which are axially movable relative to one another by actuator pistons (10,11) and are coupled to each of the blades. Each piston with its respective yoke is slidably guided at two points (18,19) on an axial shaft (7) which is fixed in the housing and contains the ducts (12,13, 14,15) for the pressure medium actuating the pistons. The yoke (9) connected with the entry side of the blades may have a greater axial spacing between its support points (18,19) than the yoke (8) coupled to the blade exit sides.
