<p>PURPOSE:To improve intake efficiency by constituting the device in such a manner that the direction of curvature of each branch pipe of an intake manifold and the direction of curvature of an intake port are the same in terms of a plane. CONSTITUTION:The intake ports 1'-6' of cylinders C1-C6 are exhaust ports 7'-12' are arranged symmetrically, centering the center line X of the full length of the cylinder head H' as the axis of symmetry. Accordingly, in the case when the intake manifold 14 of a symmetrical independent distribution method and an exhaust manifold 15 of the same method are fitted to the cylinder head H', the direction of curvature of branch pipes 14-1-14-6 of the intake manifold 14 and the direction of curvature of the intake ports 1'-6' turn to be the same in terms of a plane. Therefore, the pressure loss of intake in relation to the cylinders C1-C3 is reduced, while the intake efficiency in the cylinders C1-C3 becomes equal to the intake efficiency in the cylinders C4-C6, and thus the intake efficiency of the whole engine is improved.</p> |
