PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the picture quality for a facsimile device that performs a reduction conversion of the number of picture elements, by adding the isolated picture element which is overlooked while sampling the picture element to the final picture element row. CONSTITUTION:The picture element row E read out through a photoelectric conversion part is sampled by the sampling circuit 11 to be turned into the picture element row G that received a reduction conversion. The circuit 11 supplies the overlooked detection signal to the overlook detection circuit 13 for isolated picture element in case the picture element before reduction conversion exists in two units in a period of the sampling clock F for the above-mentioned sampling. Then the picture element row I having a delay equivalent to a picture element is taken out of the row E by the memory 14, thus obtaining an exclusive OR to the row E. Thus the changing point is detected 15, and this output is supplied to the circuit 13 and then applied to an AND circuit along with the above-mentioned detection signal to detect the overlooked isolated picture element. This isolated picture element is applied to the final picture element row. In such a way, the picture quality can be enhanced. |
