<p>PURPOSE:To provide a primer composition shielding light of <=380nm wavelengths and preventing the deterioration and degradation of rubber or the like coating the surface of glass by forming a film with a film former and an ultraviolet absorber. CONSTITUTION:A primer soln. is prepared by adding a film former such as polystyrene and an ultraviolet absorber such as 2,4-dihydroxy-benzophenone to a solvent such as n-hexane. To the soln. may be added >=0.1wt% pigment or dye. The primer soln. is applied to the surface of glass once or more times to form a film shielding light of <=380nm wavelengths and having an absorption wavelength band with >=5, especially >=30% light transmittance in the 380-700nm wavelength region. As a result, a primer composition is obtd. which prevents the deterioration and degradation of rubber or a resin composition coating the glass surface and maintains the high weather resistant adhesion through glass over a long term.</p> |
