<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the performance of a bearing and to enhance the durability, by forming the outer surface of the sintered bearing in a spherical shape and forming longitudinal slits in said spherical outer surface. CONSTITUTION:This sintered bearing is constituted by forming the outer surface 11 of a sintered metal body 10 in the spherical shape, and forming a many number of slits 13 in said spherical outer surface 11. In manufacturing said bearing, at first, is obtained a molded compressed powder body 20 having a straight outer surface and protruded streaks 23 by molding the compressed powder with upper and lower punches. Then, a mandrel 4a is inserted in an outer mold 1a. The molded compressed powder 20 is enclosed in spherical molding surfaces 8a and 7a of the upper and lower punches 8 and 7. Then, the molded body 20 is compressed by the upper punch 8, and the desired sintered bearing having the longitudinal slits 13 in the spherical outer surface is obtained.</p> |
