NEW MATERIAL:1-( 4-Acetamido-2-methoxyphenoxy )-3-[4-( 3-fluorophenyl )piperazino]-2-propanol.hydrochloride.3/4 hydrate. USE:An intracranial pressure decreasing agent useful for the remedy of the increase of intracranial pressure caused by the intracranial diseases such as cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cranial lesion, cerebral tumor, cerebromeningitis, cerebral edema, etc. PROCESS:Hydrochloric acid is added to an aqueous acetic acid solution of 1-(4- acetamido-2-methoxyphenoxy)-3-[4-(3-fluorophenyl)piperazino]-2-propanol, and the precipitated crystal of the above propanol derivative.hydrochloride.3/4 hydrate is separated. The concentration of the aqueous acetic acid solution is preferably 1-50V/V%, especially 3-10V/V%, and that of hydrochloric acid is preferably 1-35%, especially 5-15%. The addition of hydrochloric acid is preferably controlled to keep the pH of the solution at 1-3. |
