PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of an exhaust gas purifier for an internal combustion engine and accurately mount it on its casing, by engaging one inclined area of a catalyst cassette with the annular projection area of the casing and making the other incrined area inserted into the casings by winding a gasket around it. CONSTITUTION:The inner diameter of a casing has such a size as can allow fitting of a catalyst cassette 5 and an annular projection 6a is formed at the specified inner position. The catalyst cassette 5 is fitted in, the left side of one casing 6 and the second inclined area 4e on the right is engaged with the annular projection 6a. A heat- resistant gasket 10 is wound around the first inclined area 4d on the other side. The gasket 10 is inserted between the bent left edge 6b of the casing 6 and the right bent edge 7a of the other casing 7. Besides, its periphery is tightened by a band 11 and secured in a body. This can form the catalyst cassette 5 and accurately integrate the cassette 5 and the casing 6 with each other. |
