A synchronous machine is supplied via a rectifier with a network for regulating the off periods of the current. It contains a network which measures the off period of the thyristors forming the current rectifier. This is used as the control factor for the ignition pulses of the thyristors. It produces a time shift in the pulse. There is a storage network for the control factor corres. to the off period of one of the thyristors until the corres. control factor of the off period of the next thyristor along has been stored. The storage network feeds a comparator for checking the upper and lower liminting values of the conducting periods.
