[Also in Division F2] In a device in which relative motion takes place between parts of a magnetic circuit, one of the parts comprises a conglomerate of iron particles and molybdenum disulphide in a phenol formaldehyde binder, the molybdenum disulphide providing self-lubrication. This material may be inserted in cavities in a carrier of iron, steel, or plastic. Fillers such as glass, plastic or asbestos fibres may be included in the conglomerate. Among applications mentioned are motors, generators, brakes and clutches.</p> |
