Modular simulator extinguishing electric arcs in fluids - suitable for educational or research establishments, or testing transformer oils

The modular or compact appts. is used esp. in teaching establishments, and consists of a pillar carrying a fixed conductor and a mobile conductor receiving the sec. voltage of a transformer or any other appts. capable of producing a d.c. or a.c. arc. A threaded spindle and a nut may be used to adjust the position of the mobile conductor. Ten different contact modules or arc extinction cages are located manually or automatically between the two conductors, and a safety system is provided. The appts. may include a Buchholz relay to demonstrate its use in protecting an oil immersed transformer. The appts. can also be used for measuring the dielectric strength of oils.
