New catalysts comprise (a) 100 pts. wt. of a support, (b) 0.05-0.6 (pref. 0.1-0.5) pts.wt. of a Pt-gp. metal, (c) 0.05-0.8 (pref. 0.15-0.2) pts.wt. of Se, (d) 0.005-5 (pref. 0.1-0.4) pts. wt. of Fe, Co and/or Ni, and (e) 0.1-15 pts.wt halogen. The catalysts are esp. useful for reforming or aromizing, but can also be used for isomerisation of paraffins or aromatics, hydrocracking, or hydro- or steam-dealkylation of aromatics. Components (c) and (d) give improved selectivity, esp. when the catalysts are used under high-severity reforming conditions in a series of at least 2 mobile-bed reactors. |
