A direct melt process type glass fiber production apparatus in which a plurality of bushing (4 min ) rectangular in cross section are arrayed in row in each forehearth (3 min ) in such a way that the shorter sides of each bushing (4 min ) are in parallel with the lengthwise direction of the forehearth (3 min ) and a pair of resistance heating terminals (5 min ) are attached to the centers of the shorter side walls of each bushing (4 min ), whereby the conventional guide shoes can be eliminated and the uniform lengthwise and widthwise temperature distributions of the molten glass can be maintained in every bushing (4 min ). |
