<p>The equipment designed for fighting smaller fires occurring in domestic premises is housed in a cabinet placed in convenient points of rooms. The cabinet contains a length of hose suitably coiled and carrying on its one end a coupling with a nozzle. The other end of the hose has a universal connector fitting of split design, which can be clamped on to the nearest water tap. The hose has an inner layer of soft plastics material which folds easily into a flat shape. A sheathing is woven around the inner layer for reinforcement, when the hose is under pressure. The cabinet also contains a foam attachment and a special extinguishing agent-containing attachment for use on electric equipment.</p> |
