1526190 Purifying waste water from acrylonitrile production ERDOLCHEMIE GmbH 5 April 1977 [7 April 1976] 14331/77 Heading C1C Nitrogen compounds in waste water obtained during the production of acrylonitrile by gas phase oxidation of propylene and ammonia with oxygen, are removed by treating the waste water at elevated temperature with at least 0À01% by weight of sodium hydroxide and at least 0À01% by weight of hydrogen peroxide, or an equivalent amount of a compound which yields hydrogen peroxide under the reaction conditions, or a compound which evolves active oxygen under the reaction conditions. Specified compounds with yield hydrogen peroxide are alkali metal and alkaline earth metal peroxides and organic or inorganic addition compounds of hydrogen peroxide; and specified compounds which evolve active oxygen are perborates, percarbonates and persulphates. The waste water may be subjected to distillation prior to the above treatment.
|
