The emergency call system has numerous emergency call stations connected via the public telephone network to an emergency central station. The emergency calls are triggered by operating a sensor. The calling station automatically establishes a link with the central station and sends a data telegram to it. After the telegram has been received, a voice link is established between the two stations. If the operator at the central station is engaged, incoming calls are released -- i.e. they do not continue to hold telephone lines. A recorder records such calls made when the central station is engaged and displays their date at the central station.
