<p>A flocked material, produced by the application of a flock coating, pref. in an electrostatic process, to a substrate coated with a layer of uncured, crosslinkable plastic material, as described in DE2910234, is subsequently bonded by fusion or by means of an adhesive to a strengthening or stiffening underlayer in the form of a plate or sheet. The underlayer material may be pressed into a three-dimensional shape simultaneously with the bonding operation. Various textures and finishes may be produced by pressing one or both sides of the composite material against a variety of textured plates or rollers during the curing of the adhesives. A wide range of materials with differing properties, suitable for use, e.g. as coachwork or furnishing panels, may be covered with the flocked substrate, and given a variety of surface textures.</p> |
