<p>PURPOSE:To hold target angle resolution width constant by providing a linear variable attenuator on the sum terminal of a phased array antenna and providing a level controller which controls the linear variable attenuator by an attenuator corresponding to a beam scanning angle. CONSTITUTION:The linear variable attenuator 15 is installed between a changeover switch 2 and the sum terminal of the phased array antenna 3, and the level controller 16 reduce the effective pattern of the antenna 3 as compared with the level of a sum pattern by setting an attenuation quantity according to a beam scanning angle from the controller 4. Consequently, the angle range where the target responds can be narrowed down and the level value of the sum pattern is therefore set for the beam scanning angle of the phased array antenna to make the target angle resolution width constant, thereby holding its performance constant.</p> |
