New medicinal preparations with cytostatic activity contain cpds. of formula (I); (where R1 and R2 are each H or opt. substd. 1-12C hydrocarbyl or R1 and R2 together form a ring system or a residue (R3)(R4)C: in which R3 and R4 are H or opt. substd. 1-12C hydrocarbyl or together form a ring system; and glycidyl is a residue of formula (Ia); in which R3 is H or 1-4C alkyl; or one of the glycidyl residues may be replaced by a second ring of formula (I) linked via a hydrocarbon gp.). (I) have cytostatic activity and are suitable for use in the therapy of malignant neoplasms. (I) may be prepd. by reaction of corresp. 1,3-unsubstd. hydantoins with epihalohydrin in the presence of alkali, or by epoxidation of corresp. N-acyl-substd. hydantoins.
