A power-driven ring rotor encircles the trunk, and has tool-carriers mounted on it, to swivel against the trunk, in conjunction with conveyors moving the trunk through it, on a machine working on tree trunks, esp. for bark stripping. The swivel axes of the carriers (9) are aligned at a radial interval from the axis of rotation of the rotor and they are aligned perpendicular to it. The swivel axes are pref. hinged to holders (8), each with a parallel guide-rod assembly (6,7) joining it to a frame piece (5) on the rotor (2), pref. with an intervening pressure-medium drive. Simple tools permit work of equal quality on trunks of widely differing dia.
|
