Blood separator with transparent calibrated sinking tube - held in container insert with channel in insert floor and connected to annular gap

A blood separation sinking device contains a transparent sealed sinking tube with a calibration mark below its upper end. Red blood cells are separated from the blood serum by being allowed to sink in the tube. The lower end of the sinking tube (3) is rigidly held by an insert (2) contg. a cylindrical jacket (4) with a base (6). The insert (2) fits tightly so as to form an air seal in the blood sample container (1) which is closed at the bottom. The bottom of the sinking tube rests on the floor of the insert but is connected via a channel (9) to the annular gap (12) between the insert and the container (1).
