PURPOSE:To enhance operation efficiency by a method wherein a gas adsorbing agent layer is arranged to an upstream part of an air flow passage of a main body of the purifying apparatus having a blower mounted therein and an oxidation catalyst layer to a downstream part thereof respectively as well as an air flow amount during adsorption and desorption operations is changed. CONSTITUTION:Air is flowed to a direction shown by an arrow (a) from an air sucking port 6 and passed through a dust removing apparatus 1 to remove the dust therein and, subsequently, as a stream (a'), passed through the adsorbing agent layer 3 to be converted to a deodorized and purified stream (a''). Next, the stream (a''). Next, the stream (a'') is passed through the unheated oxidation catalyst layer 5 and blown out therefrom. When the desorption operation is carried out, current is passed to a heater 4 to heat the gas adsorbing layer 3 and the oxidation catalyst layer 5 and, in this case, said operation is carried out so as to lower an air amount of the blower 2 to 1/10 or less compared to an amount used during general adsorption operation. Thereby, the gas adsorbed to the gas adsorbing agent layer 3 is desorbed and, as the stream (a''), entered into the heated oxidation catalyst layer 5 to be completely deodorized and a safe oxidized stream (a'') is obtained. |
