PURPOSE:To obtain a required surface accuracy in a short time by a method wherein a glass fiber rod rotating in a low speed is ground by a grind stone rotating in a high speed when forming a bar lens having an optical axis length longer than an effective diameter of a copier, etc. CONSTITUTION:A glass fiber rod 1 is rotated in a low speed preventing it from a swing by means of a motor 6 and a working grind stone 4 is rotated at a high speed by means of a motor 7, and further, an arrow A direction feeding is given and a grinding is performed upto a given position. In this way, after a spherical working on a surface is finished, a spherical working onto another spherical face is performed in the same manner. At this time, a collect chuck 3 and the working grind stone 4 are supported by high precision bearings 2, 5, respectively. In this way, a spherical face of high accuracy can be obtained in a very short time. |
