The device has a sleeve-shaped carrier (2) which projects into the space in which the gas pressure to be measured prevails. Arranged on the carrier (2) is a pressure-dependent resistor in the form of a bifilar winding (5). The winding (5) is connected to an electrical conductor (10) which extends through the carrier (2) in a gas-tight fashion. The carrier (2) is provided with a flange (14) which is pressed against a shoulder (16) in a gas-tight fashion by means of a nut (15). This design of the device produces very small dimensions and thus requires little space in pressure-receiving structural parts of a piston compressor. <IMAGE>
