摘要 <p>The engine has a compensation air reservoir coupled, via a branch line, to the engine's air intake. The reservoir is opened via a progressive slave system when rapid acceleration is required, to compensate the inertia of the turbo-charger. The vol. of the compensation air reservoir contracts during its operation. The contraction is obtained by using an elastic structure e.g. a membrane or a piston/cylinder device, to ensure a min. press. drop. Pref. when the accelerator pedal is depressed rapidly it causes movement of a cylinder. The air in the cylinder escapes via a calibrated aperture and drives a piston to cause the valve for the air reservoir to be opened against a spring. Limited movement of the accelerator is allowed before it causes movement of the cylinder via a slot in the coupling between them.</p>
