Direct plasma injection with automatic enrichment and washing - using distribution system and alternating pre-column switching arrangement

An arrangement for plasma direct injection has automatic enrichment and washing phases and is applicable to quantitative high efficienty liquid chromatography in pharmaceutical and biological analysis. The arrangement contains a distribution system connected to a sample extraction or application system. The distribution system has a pressure tight connection to a pump supplying the scavenging fluid and a pressure tight connection to a multiple-way valve. The multiple-way valve is connected to pre-columns which are, in turn, connected to a pump via a further multiple-way valve. The analytical chromatography column is connected to the first multiple-way valve, when a sampling loop has been filled the material is passed to the first multiple-way valve. The pre-columns and pump are arranged in an alternating pre-rolumn circuit.
