Flow chutes for tapping soda found from soda boilers in cellulose factories are rapidly worn at their outlet end due to corrosion, wear and formation of cracks. According to the invention, the working life is prolonged: 1) by the flow chutes 1 at their outlet portion being provided with a cooler 4, separated from the conventional cooler 2, and providing a very intensive cooling by the flow rate of the water being very large; 2) by the cooling surface in the chutes 1 being increased by providing longitudinal flutes 5 on the found side; 3) by increasing the material thickness; and 4) by cutting off the intensive cooler 4 when the outlet portion 3 of a flow chute has become so worn that risk is present for formation of holes in it, and using the chute for some further time until it can be exchanged at a planned stop for regular overhaul of the soda boiler. <IMAGE> |
